- JASON COLEMAN WINS TRAVELAGE WEST 2009 TRENDSETTER AWARD
LOS ANGELES, California, June 4, 2009 – TravelAge West magazine recently announced that Jason Coleman, president and chief visionary of Jason Coleman, Inc. won the 2009 Trendsetters Award in the category of Best Group Booking Sales Effort.
The award was announced at the black-tie WAVE Awards Gala, June 4 at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, California. This event was attended by top executives in the travel industry. Coleman will appear with the other winners on the cover of TravelAge West’s 2009 Trendsetters issue scheduled for August 17. As category winner, Coleman received a Monograms “A Week in Paris” for two sponsored by the Globus Family of Brands.
“Instead of entering one single group, I detailed my highly effective and efficient marketing plan for how I promote my theme cruises,” Coleman said describing his award entry. “Using tools such as Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo groups, and other social networking applications, I market theme cruises to a very targeted niche audience.”
In announcing the winners, TravelAge West editors noted that the Trendsetter Awards recognize agents who aren’t afraid to think outside the box. “I am thrilled to be recognized as an innovator in this industry. Too often, I’m critical of my youthful energy when surrounded by professionals who have been selling travel for decades. This recognition validates the entrepreneurial approach I take with my company and illustrates how important new ideas are to keeping retail travel sales alive and healthy.”
In 2008, Coleman was a Trendsetter runner-up in the category of Best Single Sales Promotion Effort. [Click here to read more about the 2008 runner-up award: http://www.travelagewest.com/article_ektid24128.aspx.]
